A natural lifestyle can seem expensive on the surface. But with some forethought, you can be well on your way to living the more natural lifestyle you’re dreaming of!

So it’s true. Some of the products we consume today really do have a better option. But ever the worried consumer, you begin to ask yourself – what about the rest of the things in my home? And so begins the spiral that’s recognizing your need to do better; realizing how much needs to change; researching the best possible products; and regretting that you can’t afford to do everything all at once. Sometimes I even hear people ending in defeat.

“I know I need to do better, but I can’t afford those price points!”

“Making the switch is a priority for me, but it’s not a priority right now.”

I’m here to encourage you – don’t get to regret! Get out a pen and paper and follow these R’s instead!

Getting in the kitchen and learning to cook with high-quality ingredients is a great way to get started on a more natural lifestyle!

Reorganize

Rome wasn’t built in a day. So let’s wipe the slate clean. List, in whatever order you choose, your next three steps. you could say, “I really need to trash my makeup.” And thus, it moves up the priority list. Or you could say, “you know? This makeup is expensive. I’m going to use it up and when it’s time to purchase more, that’s when I’ll go cleaner.”

Retrain

Clean ingredients take work. It’s a balance of tweaking a recipe to find out what works for you. So take some time to work with those recipes and be willing to get through a few mistakes to truly understand the new materials you’re working with.

Making your own beauty products is a great way to get started on the path to a more natural lifestyle!

Remain the course

Sourdough starter needs to be fed before you use it. Thawing meat without the conveniences of a microwave means preplanning your meals. It’s so easy to get bogged down in the to do list and prep work that comes with creating a healthier lifestyle. But I’m here to tell you – as a mom to two toddlers – it’s possible! You can do it! Let yourself go through the growing pains that come with learning a new skill. Because if you keep at it, one day it won’t be new anymore!
